QUESTIONS and ANSWERS

1. What equipment do I need
The simplest set-up is purely and simply a soft phone. We allow you to download a program that creates a phone on your computer. You then use your mike and speakers. This method will work but to be effective you need a separate headphone and speaker.

TSN supply a phone already configured which allows almost instant access. Cost from $145.

TSN supply adapters that create a phone line over your ADSL circuit. You can then plug in your standard phone or perhaps a portable phone. This method gives the greatest versatility cost from $148.00

All the above systems come fully configured and are ready to roll with very little skill.

2. What happens when I Place a VoIP Call to an ordinary phone.
You won’t notice any difference, except perhaps dialling may take slightly longer. The call will go over the Internet until it reaches the third parties local telephone company for the completion of the call.

3. Are there any pitfalls with VOIP
If your making a phone call and the KIDS suddenly start downloading heavily then you may notice a deterioration in the voice quality. For a high quality voice call you need the ample bandwidth. However with care you can save absolutely heaps by using VOIP. The unlimited Internet accounts are the best choice if you are going to make a lot of VOIP calls. If you have an account that charges for data you need to be aware that VOIP calls do generate a download.
