Before you start: These instructions are for Eudora 5.1 for Windows. Other versions of Eudora (including Eudora for Mac) are very similar but may have differences - documentation for other versions is available at the Eudora web site.

It is assumed that you already have Eudora installed on your computer.

Step 1. Double click the 'Eudora 5.1' icon.

You do not need to be connected to the Internet to setup Eudora. If this is the first time you have run Eudora, you will be offered the assistance of the Eudora Setup Wizard, which will guide you through the setup process. If you are using the Setup Wizard, you may like to jump ahead to the settings section.

When you have finished entering these settings, click 'OK'.

Step 4. To check your email click on the 'Check Mail' button in the toolbar on the left hand side.

Step 5. When you check for new mail, you will be asked for your password.
If you do not want to enter your password every time you run Eudora, you can 'save' your password by following the steps below.

Step 6. Click on 'Tools' located in the top menu and select 'Options'. (refer back to step 2 for diagram). When the Options window appears, click on 'Checking Mail' located in the left hand side menu. The window should now look like the one below.

Click the 'Save password' tick box, then click 'OK'.

You will now be able to connect to the Internet and send and receive email from your account.
